Morgan realized that domain names could become incredible online brands if developed and marketed through social media. In fact, one of Linton Investment’s first brands became the go-to online resource for tax information during the first round of US Government Stimulus Checks outranking the IRS’s official information site! Since 2007 Linton Investments has developed close to 200 online brands across over 30 verticals and acquired over 1,000 domain names for the portfolio.
Morgan realized that a good domain name was only one of the critical factors for the success of an online brand. Using social media services like Twitter and Facebook Morgan could bring his brands to life and interact with social influencers all over the world. Rather than taking the money from his full-time job and investing it in the stock market, mutual funds, or real estate, Morgan continued to invest in domain names.
