Linton Investments was started in July of 2007 in Boston, MA. The company was originally focused on buying domain names and developing them into meaningful online destinations. The founder, Morgan Linton believed that one of the key components of an online brand is a domain name. He found that by buying category defining domains like Kayaking.org he was able to create vibrant online communities.
By 2010 Linton Investments had built a portfolio of over 1,000 domain names and quickly found more and more startups reaching out to them. Startups were big on ideas but short on cash and as a startup founder himself Morgan did everything he could to get domains to startups at a reasonable price.
Linton Investments has helped dozens of startups acquire game-changing domains with over $2.8M in deals completed in 2012. We help startups with budgets as low as $750 all the way up to $750,000 and can often save our clients thousands of dollars or more acquiring their top choice domain name.
In 2012 Morgan’s wife Daina started Fashion Metric, an LA Tech Startup focused on helping men find clothes that fit their body and match their style. Morgan joined as Cofounder and CTO and now spends every day working with his wife and their team to build the company of their dreams. Linton Investments now employs over 18 people around the world and Morgan still decides what domains the company buys and plays an active role in bringing on new members to the team and negotiating some of the companies larger sales and acquisition deals.
